First-aid by conventional means of transportation – such as ambulances \u2013 sometimes is not easy or even possible. Like if the territory is difficult to reach and equip because of its conformation and logistics<\/strong>. In support and in addition to the conventional rescue vehicles, there are bikes equipped for emergency and rescue. This is quite a new but growing trend, conventionally called cycle-rescue<\/strong>. Use bicycle for rescue!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is the rescue bike useful<\/strong>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is estimated<\/a> that 30% of emergency calls may be handled with bikes to reach the rescue place and so without using any ambulance. At the same time, 80% delays may be prevented using bikes in cities, thanks to the ease of transport<\/strong> in traffic and through the streets. This is also because not all emergency calls are equally serious<\/strong> and require transport to the hospital. Therefore where ambulances are not required or for first-aid waiting for the ambulance, we recommend to use bicycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When is the rescue bike useful, when to use bicycle for rescue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A rescue bike<\/strong> is a precious resource when the incident or emergency scene is not quick to reach or cannot be accessed by traditional vehicles.
Shopping and trade fair centres<\/strong> for example are big but close venues and they cannot be reached by ambulance vehicles.
Large-scale outdoor events, sports events, social hubs<\/strong> are situations where four-wheeled ambulances struggle to get because of the narrow spaces and the presence of a large amount of pedestrians.
In these circumstances, the rescue bike is a flexible and rapid tool<\/strong> for the doctor or the emergency operator to intervene. For example in case of illness, accident or other emergencies.
What is more, in both rural and urban areas, the rescue bike can be a great ancillary tool<\/strong>. Like when there are no resources for a capillary diffusion of ambulances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When is it the right choice to use bicycle for rescue?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

How a medical bike is made<\/strong> – use bicycle for rescue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Those used for first-aid<\/a> are real bikes. They can be common bikes, urban or mountain bikes, or pedal assisted bikes. What makes them rescue bikes is the dual tone buzzer<\/strong> together with the blue led strobe<\/strong> and medical bags<\/strong> with medical devices, tools and drugs for first-response. The basic equipment includes an oximeter, a manometer, a defibrillator, medical dressings, oxygen and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the more performant and equipped<\/strong> the bike is, the easier it is to move on different types of terrain and it allows any type of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quality of accessories<\/strong> is important for the rescue bike. For example, a long lasting battery, a light frame, the type of tyre, the visibility given by reflective tapes, a comfortable saddle and a sturdy gear. All of it affects the bike performance and so the intervention times and the operator\u2019s comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rescue world shall always focus on innovation<\/strong>, to ensure service<\/strong> quality<\/strong> and face new<\/strong> people needs<\/strong>. <\/strong>As well as, as a consequence of a change in the habits, places and medical needs. Products like the rescue bike widen the available tools for organizations and operators, allowing to optimize resources and times<\/strong>. Considered as one more tool for a rapid and successful rescue<\/strong>, also eco-friendly<\/strong> and<\/strong> sustainable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
