Compliances obligation in France and the European framework"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> January 2021<\/strong>, French vehicles intended for medical transport have been involved in a real technical revolution of compliances obligations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entry into force of the latest revision of the<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CEN_1789\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <strong>EN 1789:2020 standard<\/strong><\/a> will oblige all <strong>organizations, private and public<\/strong>, involved in the <strong>rescue<\/strong> world to comply with the requirements set by the competent authorities. Or in other words to comply with the compliances. Vehicles that do not comply with the provisions will no longer be allowed to circulate. Therefore, most of the vehicles registered before 2011 will become obsolete.<br>The standard does not concern only the world of volunteering, but also that of <strong>emergency services<\/strong> and <strong>hospital transport<\/strong>. As well as <strong>private companies<\/strong> that provide ambulance transport services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safety of patients and operators during medical transport in Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EN1789:2020<\/strong> standard is based on a cardinal principle of ambulance transport: <strong>to protect the safety of patients<\/strong> and operators. A principle that is often disregarded, but today the law has decided to reaffirm it firmly.<br>For sure the persistence of the Covid-19 pandemic greatly complicates the picture. Representing a health emergency for the country, it is also becoming a real emergency for the <strong>entire rescue mobility system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ambulances and operators are daily involved in extreme situations that require, more than ever, maximum attention. If we add the impressive amount of transport services done, it is easy to understand how safety is a priority and very delicate issue. Indeed, handling medical transport does not only pose problems on a professional level, but also and above all on a technical one.<br>An example: <strong>what modifications to bring to the devices<\/strong> in the medical compartment so that they comply with the legislation or compliances obligation? Also, what should ambulance builders do to comply with legal provisions?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Immediate solutions for the compliances obligations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This issue has no immediate solution, as there are still many vehicles that, for various reasons, do not comply with the criteria identified by EN1789.The standard indicates various requirements for each vehicle category: ambulances intended for transport (<strong>type A1 and A2<\/strong>), rescue (<strong>type B<\/strong>) and mobile intensive care units (<strong>type C<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the situation like in other European countries? What are the compliance obligations?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In Europe, countries did not follow the same pattern. Spain and Germany immediately implemented the requirements of European standards, while Italy, besides a delay in the implementation of the provisions, has adopted some changes. Regarding the distinction between vehicle types, the Italian system identifies A type ambulances as vehicles intended for rescue and B type vehicles for transport. In addition, the actual compliance with the strict requirements of EN1789 is also slow in coming. Alongside serious manufacturing companies, there are still companies that are not aligned with European regulations and governed by a logic of the so-called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Do_it_yourself\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;do it yourself&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stem. A cutting-edge product range. STEM devices stand out precisely for their professional use and accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two key factors of ambulance transport are <strong>comfort<\/strong> and <strong>patient\u2019s safety<\/strong>, especially during emergency operations.
